    2. Message from  the Board

    Dear Menus members,

We have come a long way from our initial session in 2005. In 2006 we have continuously transform , evolved and expanded our membership. From our early beginnings, we structured and transformed our business to incorporate the following intrinsic characteristics:

    • A complementary base of leisure related businesses, including fitness, and more recently, the defense of the ancient.

    • A broader base of operations to draw resources from, such that operations can still be carried out even with the absence of key member.

2007 we focused and developed each of the above values started in 2006 where we presented our first annual report. It is now my pleasure to present to you our 2nd annual report for the FY2007

    3. Board of Directors (in alphabetical order)

Alex Lee is the company's secretary. He is in-charge of coordinating the weekly meetings and deconflicting member's schedules. His dedication to the game has earned him the nickname DM. He has a degree in Civil Engineering.

Guay Hansen is our treasurer. He is in-charge of gathering all the excess funds generated in a corner of his room which none of the other board of directors have seen. All claims incurred as part of the operations are handled by him. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ow Liangshan is the company's logistics provider. He has generously given his mattresses, pillow and occasionally his bed to other members. He has also generously provided refreshment for all the sessions.

Tan Han Siang is the company's fund provider thus far. Most of the funds generated comes from him as can be seen in the 2006 and 2007 annual report. Other than the contribution he does nothing whatsoever.

    4. Operations Review

Financial Performance. Compare to the year 2006, 2007 was considerable less volatile. This could be due to a more matured establishment where the forces are more defensive*.

    * Editor's note: or it could be due to the fact that the golden tiles are losing its shine and ought to be replace.

Special Fund.  Towards the end of 2007, a special fund was set up at the corner of the table at Mr Guay Hansen's living quarter. The fund was building up to cater for a special hamper award to Mrs Ow for her kind support. However, it suffered an unexpected shock in Jan 08 at the hands of Crystal Jade which nearly decimated the fund. Since the financial shock, the fund has steadily continued its build up.

Future Plans for Special Fund.  Having fulfilled its role at the recent CNY, it was noted by Mr Alex Lee that the company equipment are getting worn. Thus the Special Fund will be geared towards replacing the equipment, although the decision will be confirmed at a later date.

    Higher Gearing
.  In the year 2007, it was decided that the to encourage more risk taking behavior, the stakes will be up in arithmetical progression for higher hands up to 8.

    5. Performance Review

    Alex Lee
.   Alex with his DM status proved to be unbeatable so far in 2007. His degree in Civil Engineering no doubt helped him in constructing the complex structure during the weekly sessions.

His  value are consistently in the positive territory after a rocky start to the year. However, towards the end of the year, his value has plummet from a high of $79.90 to close at $15.20. Even so, he is still the highest value player in the year 2007 due to the lack of performance of other players. Hence, he is conferred the "Golden Hand Award" is given to the top scorer of the year.

As can be seen from the chart, he is on a downward trend. It remains to be seen if his downward momentum will carry to the next year.

    Ow Liangshan
.  Mr Ow was a notorious player for "feeding" and laying dangerous traps. When the trap was fully set he would wisely step aside for other players to set it off. Although sometimes his actions causes the trap to explode in his face, generally it was more damaging to the innocent civilians.

Beginning of the year 2007, Mr Ow Liangshan suffered defeats after defeats. He did a dramatic turnaround and escaped being the player with the highest loss on the 26 May where his value shot up by $43, the highest ever in 2007. That rise was devastating to other players and also marks the  of the downfall of Mr Guay Hansen and Mr Tan Han Siang.

Except for the spikes in the middle of the year, his trend is generally flat. It is expected that this trend will continue in the coming year where he will aim for lower risk and lower returns.

Guay Hansen.  Mr Guay is a defensive player. However he was frequently buried along side with other more reckless players. In our opinion, his losses are due to the fact that he lack wins to fill the coffers as he gives up too early and too soon.

Mr Guay starts off the year on a high note. He was on track to win the coveted "Golden Hand" when Mr Ow Liang Shan derailed the process in the middle of the year when his value plunged by more than $60 within 2 month in May to Jul. This plunge proved his undoing when he had to struggle the rest of the year. Unfortunately he was unfairly conferred the "Loose Cannon Award" this year for having the top loss from last years awardee Mr Tan Han Siang

Towards the end, he seems to have corrected some of his mistake and it is shown by the upward trend. If this trend continues he should be having a good year 2008.

Tan Han Siang.  Having obtained the "Loose Cannon" in 2006, 2007 was a year of great improvement. He still remain as a risk taker but he has toned down greatly after learning from the lessons in 2006. Interestingly he has the most number of losses but yet he still hovers around the zero mark

Similar to Mr Guay, he was the main competitor for the Golden Hand award when the sudden move by Mr Ow destroyed his hope. It took the rest of the year to claw back the losses sustained, but the shock proved too much to him.

Based on the trends of the last few session, it is expected that he will stabilize himself near the zero mark in the coming year 2008.
