Hi, my real name is Hansen

    26 Apr 05 - Madness bikes....

Once again, my boring life has nothing much to update. But just got a copy of Bike magazine..introducing the new monster in 2005 - Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K5. It beats the current crop of 1000 litre superbikes hands down in almost all area! More powerful than my current fav R1, faster than the Kawa ZX10R..... Will this new sexy bitch sway my decision? Should I succumb to pure 159 bHP of this new beast, rather than the rideability and good looks of the R1? A picture tells a thousand words....

How will the race for the fastest and meanest bike be, after 2 years when I can finally legally ride one of these? I thought the R1 is as good as it gets...but comes the GSXR1000k5...guess it's mission impossible to guess what the future brings....

    23 Apr 05 - Sunday..so fast?

Well nothing much happening these few days actually. Today had the rare inspiration to wash bike. Took me 1.5 hours though, hard to imagine that something so small need so much effort to clean. Of course those that had clean rifles before will definitely know how I feel.... And I cursed that I sport a patch of oil on my right forearm to guitar practice. haha, so paiseh, even though I've bathed before going.

Of yes, found a related website on bike washing too! But sadly only 2 bikes...
Bike wash website. Pls enter with an open mind...

After practice, went for late dinner at Toa Payoh, where we joke about the effective new GENUS administration, woes of married life and a certain person (what's his name? Chua Teck Looi or something?!?!) that Alex is having an affair with while in the guise of negotiating for our performance. Oh, and Michelle reads my blog...well done. Hi Michelle! Pls start one too!

On the issue of blogs, also just discovered a singapore based blog site, mainly for noisy teenagers and some say some locall artiste too (Jamie Yeo). Well, it look pretty pack with features, although most of the blogs look kinda similiar. It's called Moblogs.

No picture...kinda xian. Ok lah, some diff colors of my next next bike to be. Comments appreciated!

    18 Apr 05 - A long eventful day...and almost my last day

The day started not too well well I lightly touched the rear bumper of a blur Lancer (color combi for this model of Lancer is pretty rare). I didn't stop, cos I though there's no damage. But I underestimated the "my car is my life" atittude of my dear Singaporeans, as he actually stopped the car besides the road and checked. I should have stopped, but was late and also he didn't signal me.

Well later I spotted his car and apologise. Turn out there's no damage at all. Phew....

Then following a stupid complaint by an NSMen or NSF to my Dy Comd about the website being "not updated and design is old compared to the other bases", I was feeling damn pissed. First of all, I'm the freaking webmaster for my airbase. Secondly, nobody visit the webpage, except to access the leave application link. Which works btw.

But I admit there's quite a number or redundant links. So I slogged hard and removed them. But didn't change the design much, as I disagree with the comment that the design is outdated and old. I personally feel the design and layout is pretty ok and having been more or less the same since 1999, there's kind of attachment to it. The other bases are either worse or are commercialised/done by DSTA. Lack character, that's what I'll call them. Although I will most probably not get a chance to 'interview' the plaintiff/complainter (is there such a word?), I know that my boss haven't even seen the other bases webpage or even mine, cos he actually ask out loud "who is the webmaster" when my name is plastered obviously on the bottom of the webpage. Blardy hell!

I've also completed the newsletter (yes, I do websites and newsletter in the airforce. What a wonderful world). Printed a color copy, packed up and left the office around 2230. Just outside the base, notice an incoming car stopping to turn into base (the road was only 2 lane, 1 for each direction). As I was passing the vehicle at around 40 km/h, heard a screeching sound as the lorry behind that car jammed brake. It kinda skidded and started swerving to its left (the roadside, away from me). Somehow, it didn't occur to me to stop or slow down as I thought the lorry will either stop in time or collide with the car...and a split second later the stupid lorry skilfully avoided the car by swerving right and RIGHT INTO MY DIRECTION! @#$!@#$!@#$! (which is the acronym for chao chee by chao chee by chao chee by, a very common expression used by motorist in impeding danger).

I don't know what go into me, instincts or plain stupidity...I actually increase throttle and managed to pass the lorry when it's front was already halfway inside my lane. I believe the closest distance of the lorry and my bike was 30 cm with the lorry hurtling towards me......

Miraculously the lorry stopped after I pass, as I was left with a "I'm alive!" feeling and a replay of events over and over again as I cruise back home.... Spine tingling? Yes. Nerve wrecking? A little. Enough sense to take down lorry number to buy 4D? .....damn it!

14 Apr 05 - Operation Dee Wee Dee!

My phone rang, the familiar Final Fantasy victory tune.....

    "Hello?"

    "送货的!“

    "...... oh ok! 几点?”

    “十二点,一点。。。。”

    “好的,在Bukti Batok."

    “好,我到了才打给你。。。”

So I sneaked home (during lunch lah, not REALLY affecting my work...hehe...) and ate my chicken rice at a nearby coffeeshop.. He was 30 minutes late, I almost wanted to go... He came in a Malaysian plate Proton Wira, with a quite pleasant gal seating next to him. Must be Angie, the one that reply in the email. Pass the money, took the plastic/duct tape wrapped package and Operation Dee Wee Dee was concluded. Here's the spolis:

ok, I must confess, the first row of mushy oh-so-sweet romance crap belongs to Michelle.
The 2nd row of horrors belong to Shu Hann.
The classy high brow "you got taste" selection at the bottom, is mine. Naturally.

Well I really admire their ingenuity. In fact, from the list of numbers I've seen Angie cancelled after I gotten the goods, tier business must be good! About S$90 for 20 disc. Each buyer will profit around 50% - that's S$45. Minus fuel, Causeway tax, internet subscription fee...given about 7 customers per day. I'm guessing they earn about S$250 per day. That's a whooping S$7500 per month!

Ok, time to test the disc..... Oh yes, I just passed my 2A evaluation, taking my first 2A on the 10th May. RS250, here I come!

    10 Apr 05 - A day of happy noises!

Day start: woke up at 730 am....on a Sunday? Cos I gotta start early for the busy day ahead:

0855: Arrive at CFA dance studio, took guitar and PRACTICE! That's because I have MASAK (my guitar group of 5-6 people) and I can't freaking play and is the slowest and weakest player around. And judging from my "adequate" preparations not the most hardworking one either.

0957: shitto! realise I'm late! Quickly strap the guitar to my trusty Honda Phantom, and zoomed away at 100 km/h along AYE - CTE - Carmichael road

    for...
    MAHJONG!

Yes, guess you now know why the hell I can't wake up at 1230 and practise my guitar then.

It's was an ok game, a few hit and misses, I was pretty lucky when I got a lucky hand, but pretty damn suay to let LS (again! argh!!!) to win the 13 Wonders from a discarded 9 marbles by me...

In case you not sure, 13 wonders is:

Yes...the last 9 marbles courtesy of me...a freaking 13 tais. Luckily we play a limit of 5+3=8 tais....This is the 2nd time I did that! Unbelievable.... If you like some info on mahjong can go here.

As for MASAK practice, it was less eventful. I managed to struggle through, though luckily they seem to in a hurry to get past the 6 pieces and didn't correct my errors. Still...I'll try to get it right next time! There was the issue of the Taiwan videos but...I don't think I will get the DVD before the next member's birthday.

Then we adjourned to Country Manna for dinner and celebrate Shu Hann's 32nd birthday! Singing, jokes, laughter...made the food easier to go down. Cake from NYDC is good, of course.

Chin Yuen's and Karen's round the world trip is actually starting this year...wow... They got about $80k+ but I'm not sure if it's enough for the 2 years trip. Me? I would love to do that too..but was kinda looking forward to a round the world bike trip, just like what Ewan MacGregor did? hmm....

07 Apr 05 - New laptop arrives! But almost died and no chance to use it...

Yeah! My new laptop form Dell arrives today! Dell Inspiron 6000 with Centrino 1.6 (Pentium M 730), 60 gb and combo DVD/CDRW. The 15.4 widescree looks weird to me, guess it's good for DVD playback. Wonder if it'll be ok for games.....

Next stop - "friendly neighbourhood software shop" for my long awaited...Worms3D! haha...

On another note, was almost involved in an acccident today....at Marina Centre, on a (seemingly) clear 4 lane road, the car beside me tapped a warning horn. Turn right to see if it's horning me...nope, turn back in front and FUCKING HELL 2 crazy mother fucking SOAB was dashing across the road and they were less than 5 freaking metres away from me!

Braked (not that it helps, really..) and one of them had already crossed my path. The other goondu, fortunately, regained some sense and stop dead in his track. Me and my gf on my bike pass him just an arms length away.
Besides the dislike for these balls shrinking experiences , I deem it very SILLY for bikes to collide with pedestrian. Because:

    1. The road is 15m wide. The width of the biker and the pedestrian is less than 60 cm. What's the chance of colliding?
    2. On the recent case, a Honda RVF collided with a pedestrian outside SAFTI. Rider was killed instantly; pedestrian survived for another 4 hours.
Ok, strange things do happen (just like bird dropping hitting a moving bike at 100 km/h along PIE...kinda painful when it struck my chest....) but the consequence is usually more severe for the rider.

So if there are pedestrians reading these that have suicidal tendencies, pls get yourself run over by trailers, lorries or fire truck. Lest a rider (and his pillion) acompany you across River Styx...

Oh yes! I have 2 replies! I actually have 2 readers of my blog! hmm...should I apply some censorship then....

    06 Apr 05 - Gloomy day...

Well I must give it to RSAF, the bloody organisation I work for. Come up with procedures to remind people to follow procedures because they forgot to follow procedures.....sheesh..

And now the top boss also becomes jumpy and just demanded an additional "safety" level. It's like locking the key to the lock of the safe. In the end the safety net is still a key, and the problem is never solved.

     FISH!
    That's fuck for the uninitiated....

05 Apr 05 - All thanks to the rain....

Well today was on a short course, it ended early and decided to eat snake and go to Sim Lim Square to rma my rams. Halfway on the ECP flyover at Keppel road, can see clearly rain was pouring over the city! Ok lah, tot I can cross the flyover and stop and wear my raincoat at a wider roadside..... 5 seconds later KNN I was pelted and plummetted by the rain...within 20s (time I took to stop, take out my rain coat and wear them) I ws already half wet....

Arrived at SLS, dripping water till I reach 6th floor Convergent. Showed him my 128 and 256 mb "Lifetime warranty" Kingston ram. Some 3 minutes of testing and the screen showed endless list of errors. 2 minutes later I got new rams! Yeah! Must buy Kingston!

But the rain also brought another kind of 'happiness' too.... So after I arrive home wet...

    Live SEX on the meadow!

The rain created a congregation of snails....

    They got comfortable:

    The action begins!

    Testing testing... 03/04/05

Just for the record this is the 2nd time I'm writing to this 'first post'...halfway during the first one my stupid pc decided to hang. Now I've always know it has a problem, mainly due to faulty rams giving the BSODs in WinXP. I tot I could live with it.... reminds me to be careful
of such 'condonable mistakes' when I say "I do" in future...

Ok, back to my first post.... I'm not a big fan of writing, though I always fantasize being one. Neither have I been great in expressing myself. I don't keep diaries, and have the greatest difficulty even writing greeting cards.

But 'blog' being the Word of the year for 2004, and like so many internet fads (porn? napster? bittorrent?) it has the weirdest effect to lure us into exploring unknown territories. SO here it is, my first blog.

ok, just testing all the quirky effects  blogdrive has to offer.

Well this ain't an entirely useless post...at least I reveal my photo gallery!
    guess which one is me?

ok, that's all folks. Hopefully my new Dell laptop arrive soon so I can update this blog...
