    Final resting place - FN2299Y

Scrapped the bike today (after some delay, due to the pallbearer still on MC last few days) at Lim Asia Steels. Relatively simple process.

The pallbearer, loaded with the remains.

All that remains are the chasis and the engine case.

Final resting place. A bleak, abandoned and lifeless world...

Inspiration for my next movie project?

Now that I've gotten myself a video camera (thanks to my bike, Mich and Pasir Gudang), why not put it to good use? This short film Rendezvous by french film maker Claude Lelouch seems simple enough....

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago

    Watch it here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2851488008488190547

Well I don't really know any F1 racer, but I do know someone bored enough (and stupid enough) to try this....with a relatively fiesty car too. So I risk my camera, while he risk his life, car and licence. Cool!

    Obituary for a bike

    In memory of Aprilia RS250 - FN2299Y
    10 Jan 1996 - 21 Nov 2006

It was a good bike, fast and slim,
served her master well, till master need to leave.
A new master was secured, this servant his dream,
a match made in heaven, or so it seems.

Few days prior to the new haven,
she broke her spine and recovery seems hopeless.
The old master, downcast and sullen,
wish to sell her, to ease the sadness.

    Then came along snowparang,
    friend of the new master.
    He needed her organs,
    so he bought her over!

Though her body is broken, she still wishes to serve.
Her body was parted, sold to needy bikers.
Though she may not remain, but she is still loved,
by the riders of the 250s, whom are her recievers.

Rest in peace, dear italian beauty,
You served us well, in spirit and in deed.
Your legacy will be borne by the other 250s,
we thank you for your parts, farewell and Godspeed.

Burial will be held at 10 Nov 06 at a LTA appointed scrapyard.

All sales and proceeds will be donated to the snowparang's racing and medical fund.

    Diary of 3 unfortunate individuals..

    Diary of Panasonic NV-GS55

    15 Oct o6

    Dear dairy,

You know I've just came back from a nice trip in Japan, and very soon after that I was lent me to the blokes in Genus for some recording of some boring concert.

Yeah well, my owner didn't really take much pride in me, being a lucky draw prize and 'I don't really need a videocam lor..' kind of excuse. But after my flawless performance and hard work in her recent overseas venture, I think she has taken quite a liking to me! Some bloke called snowparang wanted to purchase me from her but she say she'll lent it to him rather than sell me away! Yippee.

Wonder if this snowparang is good with video cameras?

    17 Oct o6

Hey I know this snowparang guy! He's the one that...ahem...took my DV output virginity. And guess what? He took me shopping today and...oh, we had a kinky time with my AV IN/OUT, this time using different toys (IR camera!! Pinhole spy camera!) He does bring me to different level of, shall we say, self-exploration?

    Tomorrow we going racing!

    18 Oct o6

Today is the most terrifying day of my life! First I was strapped inside a car and brought round this race track, then I was strapped on (I don't really fancy strap-ons you know...) to a MOTORCYCLE and brought round the track!

It was scary at first, exhilirating the next, and disastrous a few minutes later....well, this is the last few sconds before I blacked out...

    28 Oct o6

My owner doesn't want me anymore! Even though I'm totally fine except for a slight scratch on my lens (which can be replaced ANYWAY) she prefer to have a new video camera. And snowparang has already gotten her a JVC. Even with my scratches, how can that slut compare to me?!?!

    Shit.

    Diary of Honda Super4 FP428U

    17 Oct o6

    Dear Dairy,

Well you already know so MUCH about my owner that I'm absolutely infatuated with. Although he abuses me with words and the very rough handling, it's no doubt our relationship is getting more and more intimate!

And guess what? He's taking me to not 1 but 2 Thai hoilidays! And just for these 2 holidays, he's already bought some gifts for the journey, like the Givi windscreen (pity the color is blue and not maroon to match), the new rear tire, the Rjays touring pants that will be the only thing between his butt and my..hee hee....

And tomorrow we're gonna go to Pasir Gudang again! He's very proud I've managed to even the timing of that 'yawn' boring Renault RS something.

He says he hates me, but I know he can't live without me!

    19 Oct o6

I awoke today at a bikeshop...but I remember I was at a race track? Oh yah....I tripped and fell....drats. Doctor says I'm gonna be bedridden for 3 weeks. Darling still brings spare parts for me but I can see his disappoint is his eyes. And what's with the odd blue thingy over his left arm?

2 more days to the Thai holidays and I'm out of action..

    Shit.

    KNNBCCB!

2 more days to my long awaited Thai trip, and I buang in PG!?!? Re-fracture my collarbone some more?!?!

    SHIT!

    Phantom can go race track?

Can! And it's stupendous fun too!

But do note the extremely poor ground clearance of our 150/200 cc mini chopper. Be prepared for some parts replacement, such as the footpegs on my friend's TA200:

Pasir Gudang - Car vs Bike

Remember the previous go-kart outing, where I mention we should take it to a more 'realistic' driving (and riding) racing experience. True to my words, finally managed to drag down FHM to Pasir Gudang, not his first time there but it's a first for him in his Renault Clio RS.

Prior to this trip, I've always thought cars can corner faster than bikes. And hence in the Johor Circuit, where there are 12 corners and only 3 real straights, surely the vehicle with the faster cornering speed will clock a shorter lap time?

    The result, is quite unexpected.....

    See the video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6139540292219044153

There was actually a wager, that I bet he can't complete the track in under 2m10s. Technically he won, but he was only as fast as me, on a stupid road going bike with a top speed of 145 km/h! Ho Ho Ho!

I think after this his car price will depreciate...

And if you wanna know more about the track, how about looking at this simulation of the Johor Circuit? Link here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y-dMUiZUkY

Saturday Nite Fever - A greater insight into the Mahjong stats board...

You may have already noticed the ever growing Mahjong Stats table at the left hand frame. But ever wonder what those numbers mean? How did we do it?

The session is usually initiated by Alex, with a mobilisation SMS saying: War tonight, xx:xx time? The rest of us will usually reply positively...

Then we'll meet at LS place, our battleground for many saturday night skirmish... Photos at www.pbase.com/snowparang/events

    2330 hrs - Battle begins!

0250 hrs - End of 1st 4 winds. Break for supper! Courtesy of LS's wonderful mum.

0519 hrs - 2nd round of 4 winds done, winners smile and losers lament. Usually the winners, with a more uplifting frame of mind, clear the set and roll out the mattresses.

0525 hrs - A much needed rest... From this picture you know who's the owner of the room...

0929 - Breakfast, kindly sponsored by the winners. The type of breakfast will very much depend on the total winnings that day. Today is Ya Kun. Sometimes we go to Crystal Jade!

After that breakfast, LS and Alex will actually proceed to a gruelling 2 hours guitar practice session with ShuHann and Ivan (of Guitaresque fame). Alex claim the lack of sleep enable him to play better guitar.... As for me, it's either a refueling trip in JB followed by some wrenching on my bike, then some sleep...

MOE UNVEILS $250M PLAN TO BOOST THE TEACHING PROFESSION

"We should also ensure adequate rewards for our teachers who joined the Education Service as mid-career officers.  Some of them taken large pay cuts to join us.  Like many of our teachers, they are in the Service for the passion, not for the money. But we should review the salaries that they earn, once they are performing well as teachers, so that their contributions are recognized in line with other good teachers.

Our mid-career officers can bring in valuable insights with their working experience outside the Education Service.  Some  have gone on to assume leadership positions.  Like  Ng Teng Joo, Principal of Henry Park Primary School who used to be an engineer.  Or Charles Surin, who was Vice-Principal of Northland Secondary School and is now attending the Leaders in Education Programme. Charles worked in Ogilvy & Mather, SMRT and TCS.  Or Nur Johari Salleh, who was one of this year’s PAT winners. He was an engineer before he came into teaching. He’s now at Deyi Secondary as HOD for Student Welfare and Development."

    - THARMAN SHANMUGARATNAM
MINISTER FOR EDUCATION & SECOND MINISTER FOR FINANCE

Motocycle Century Sprint shootout - Too much Top Gear?

Yup, must be watching too much of the pretty well known Top Gear (an automotive talk show from England) that lead to this, my second video creation. Now I just need someone with decent looks, decent voice and charming personality to be the host...

Go to my Google video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5447927786400594322

I wonder if this serves as evidence, should they decide to issue traffic violations to that unknown rider...

If you think it's good, well, more exciting ones coming up!
